NuTeras

NuPera brings together alternative entertainment venues, NuPera Restaurant and Bar, NUCLUB, NUTERAS, Moreish and Lilbitz in the 200 years old Petit-Caps Passage in Pera İstanbul.

In Summer on the rooftop of the Nu Pera building, NuTeras Restaurant offers and elegant and upscale atmosphere and stunning views of the Golden Horn. People with diverse lifestyles shake off their prejudices with the unifying spirit of music and the spell of the venue and come together under the same roof.

The area behind the bar is given over to long tables for diners, who tuck into the same nouvelle Turkish cuisine as at Lokanta, the winter venue on the ground floor.

This was the first Beyoĸlu venue to lure posh Turks from their usual haunts in Etiler. Unlike other new venues that were crowded out then swiftly abandoned, Nu Teras is a survivor that can be considered a classic.

Start your evening by having dinner at NuPera Restaurant, Lilbitz , 67 or AUF with a choice of French, Italian, Fusion, Californian cuisine or just finger food. And then you can start dancing to which ever music you like. At NuPera Bar you can listen to house music and contemporary dance songs, at AUF you can dance to the 80s and 90s and at NuClub you can let yourself go with the 80s electro sounds and funky house rhythms.

In summer you to have a drink at NuTeras, on the roof of NuPera, to enjoy the sunset and the amazing Golden Horn view!

Pano Wine House

Visited in 2007, the place left good memories. It is basically a winehouse with wooden furniture (bar-like tables downstairs and standard tables with seats upstairs). My companion told me that Pano was founded by Greeks and in fact I was listening to some Greek music all evening on. Good wine and fresh cheese made my stay there pleasant. Be aware that the place is quite noisy with music and people talking. This is a bar anyway.

Nardis Jazz Club İstanbul

Just steps away from the historic Galata Tower lays a hidden gem of Istanbul’s live music scene, Nardis Jazz Club. Well-known to locals, but less frequented by the casual visitor, Nardis puts on a lively interactive display of jazz performances throughout the week without the pretentiousness of larger more expensive venues. Nardis is a relatively small, comfortably chic club with warm brick walls, a well stocked bar serving wine, beer, hard liquor, soft drinks, and a nice selection of bar food with seating on the lower and upper levels. I joined two friends to see Turkish jazz singer Melis Sökmen perform on a Saturday night. We sat at a reserved table on the lower level near the door, but despite the constant foot traffic of smokers headed outside for relief, this did not interrupt our enjoyment of Sökmen’s show. Sökmen took to the stage at 11 PM and did not stop until 2:30 am. Despite the signs on each table asking guests not to talk during the performance, guests danced to Latin-inspired jazz numbers and passionately sang along to a melody of Stevie Wonder covers and Turkish classics. Throughout the show, the club owners warmly greeted regulars, toasted newcomers, and took photos of the proceedings. Towards the end of the evening, I felt as though I were at a good friend’s house party rather than a public music venue. Nardis should be a stop on any music-lover’s tour of Istanbul.

Turkish Dance at Hodjapasha

This Culture Center is located at the center of Historical peninsula of Istanbul and was converted from a 550 years old historical turkish bath called Hocapaşa Hamamı in 2008.

It was originally built by Hoca Sinan Paşa who was a teacher and later vizier to Fatih Sultan Mehmet during 1470's. It was a double bath for both men and women.[gallery link="file" columns="9"]

It was comperatively a big bath with high dome, made of cut stone and also corner walls were designed like a peacock tail. This building served as a Turkish bath till 1988. Location of the area is called Sirkeci which is next to Topkapı Palace Walls , Sirkeci Train Station formerly known also as Orient Express Train Station and Sultanahmet Area.

Hodjapasha Culture Center has two sections. First is an exhibition and foyer area. The other section is performance area which has a circular glass dance floor and a musicians stage. Spectatator seats are located around circular dance floor and has a capacity of 220. Perfect lighting and beautiful decoration turnes this historical building to a very mystic and intim place.
